R&S S03E10-ColBackwash

Colonel Backwash's Chicken In A Drawer is a fake commercial that appears at the end of the episode, "Lair Of The Lummox."

The restaurant itself is a parody of KFC and features a Colonel Sanders parody named "Colonel Backwash."

Plot[]

A typical hillbilly family sits down to have dinner, where "Sister Momma" serves them "roast possum stuffed with Alabama swamp rat". Tired of having eaten it for the past fourteen years, the rest of the family aggressively rejects it. The Announcer Salesman, donning a dresser over his body and a cooked chicken on his head, stops the brawl by advertising Colonel Backwash's Chicken In A Drawer.

The Announcer Salesman claims that at the restaurant, each chicken is cooked to suit each person's needs, and is mined for daily, plus served in a drawer. People from all over the world visit the restaurant, where they are greeted by the corpse of the titular Colonel Backwash in the drive-thru. Continuing to advertise, the Announcer Salesman then says that food such as "Lung Puppies" and "Steamin' Bun-Loaves" can be eaten at the restaurant. The workers, primarily made up of pimple-faced teens, are then shown to be supervised by the Colonel himself; specifically, his corpse.

Lastly, the Announcer Salesman claims entertainment is provided for occasions like children's parties, where Colonel Backwash's corpse is manipulated on stage to perform "The Dance of One Thousand Chickens". The Announcer Salesman ends the ad by saying the Colonel's famous slogan: "If you can't keep it down, you get to eat for free!"

Trivia[]

  • On US Nickelodeon/Nicktoons airings and the DVD release, this short wasn't included probably due to time cuts. However, it's included on the Nothing But Shorts and As Stinky As They Wanna Be video tapes, and still airs in other countries, as well as the Spike TV version of "Lair Of The Lummox".
